Ginny Hemmer, MA, CCC-SLP, PCI Clinical Director – Springfield

Ginny has over 20 years of experience working in the field of speech-language pathology. After working in hospital settings, nursing homes, rehab centers and the public schools, Ginny worked at Children’s Speech and Language Services, Inc. (Arlington office) for over 10 years. There she developed a strong friendship and professional relationship with founder, Donna Gaines; and began a personal journey by taking her first PROMPT© course in 1997.

Ginny became a PROMPT© Certified Clinician in 2004. With their philosophy on treating children and working with families so closely aligned, and with her growing passion for PROMPT©, it was a very natural move for Donna and Ginny to open Children’s Speech and Language Services of Springfield, LLC as a partnership in 2006.

Ginny became a PROMPT© Certified Instructor in 2008. She developed a video called The 9 Key Components to the PROMPT© Approach as part of a presentation at CASANA’s yearly convention. She is certified in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program. Other training includes Social Thinking© and completion of a 30-hour comprehensive course in the IMSE Orton-Gillingham approach. She is excited about using this approach because it is a holistic, multi-sensory and systematic approach to treating reading disorders, which includes Dyslexia and phonological processing disorders.

In 2017 when Donna Gaines retired, Ginny became the sole owner of the Springfield office. Ginny and Jen Midili are close professional colleagues. They work together to ensure that Children’s Speech and Language Services is upholding the highest standards of excellence in treating clients and serving their families.

In her spare time, Ginny enjoys reading, gardening and hanging out with her husband, three children and two dogs.
