Putting Therapy Into Practice
We all get into the car almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. This is a fun time to work on opposites such as: open and close the door, buckle and unbuckle the seatbealt, drive fast and slow, red means stop and green means go, sitting in the front or back. Ask questions like: Who are we going to see? Where are we going? What will we do at ____?
Activity of the Month
Box Bus
We all receive multiple packages a week due to online shopping habits! Keep a big box this month, and ask your child how he/she thinks the box can turn into a bus. Ask your child to tell you different parts to a bus: wheels, steering wheel, windows, motor. Then, ask your child how he/she can imagine the box turning into a bus. Give your child crayons and/or markers and ask them to draw the different parts they listed. After the box bus is complete, ask them where they will drive the bus and who will get on the bus. Let your child’s imagination run loose on this one! Some children might ask if they can take their stuffed animals, toys, etc. inside. Let them have fun!
